About the Book

How do you move forward when the life you've built no longer feels right, but the path ahead is still unclear?

For years, Renee believed that if she made the right choices and stayed one step ahead, life would go according to plan. But when the future she'd been working toward no longer felt like the one she truly wanted, she found herself caught between a life she'd outgrown and one she couldn't yet see.

Leaving everything behind, she embarks on two years of solo travel across fifty countries, without knowing where it would lead. What begins as an adventure gradually becomes a lesson in trusting herself and allowing the path ahead to unfold. Unfamiliar cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and moments of awe and discomfort reshape not only her perspective, but the way she moves through life. Returning home, she discovers that what she learned during the journey was only the beginning. Learning how to live it is another.

The Fog and the Flow is a deeply reflective memoir for anyone navigating change, questioning the path they're on, or wondering how to move forward when the future feels uncertain. It is an invitation to loosen our grip on certainty and discover that when we meet the unknown with greater trust, courage, and curiosity, life often unfolds in ways we never could have imagined.

About the Author

Renee Maxine Haas is a writer and speaker whose work explores embracing change, navigating uncertainty, and living authentically.

After building a successful career in technology, she left it behind to spend two years traveling solo across nearly 50 countries. What began as an adventure became an unexpected journey inward, transforming not only how she saw the world, but how she chose to live.

Her debut memoir, The Fog and the Flow, draws from that experience to explore the courage of letting go, the uncertainty of beginning again, and the unexpected freedom that can emerge when we stop trying to control every step ahead.

Beyond her writing, Renee hosts The Effing Audacity podcast, where she shares honest conversations and reflections on stepping out of the comfort zone and creating a life that feels true to who you are.
